SMS Marketing to top $750 Million in 2009

According to Chetan Sharma, President of Chetan Sharma Consulting, text message marketing account for about 50% of the estimated $1.5 billion that the mobile marketing industry will bring in in 2009.Sharma predicts that advertisers will continue to reduce radio, TV and print expenditures and look to mobile and web to help provide a higher ROI on marketing campaigns in a slowing economy.
That, combined with the expanded mobile offerings being offered by the large advertising agencies, will continue to lead to exponential growth in the mobile category, according to Ken Wilner, CEO of Zumobi, at Mobile Northwest 2008 in Seattle
